Welcome to the third episode of the AAE Podcast!

In 2025, the Pension Tracking Services working group of the AAE has conducted research on the possibilities of linking information from national pension tracking systems, following a request from the European Tracking Service organisation. On 17 December 2025, a discussion paper was published on this topic (AAE Discussion Paper “Towards a European Pension Tracking Service – Key Considerations and Findings” - Actuarial Association of Europe). This podcast is about the work of the working group and the main actuarial findings from this discussion paper.

About our guests:

André Geilenkothen is a Partner at Mercer and the CEO of the Mercer Pensionsfonds AG. He is a pension actuary in Germany and board member of the IVS, the German Institute of Pension Actuaries. He is also a member of the Working Group on Pension Tracking Services of the AAE and a co-author of the feasibility study for a Pension Tracking Service in Germany.

Jeroen van den Bosch is a member of the Pensions Committee of the AAE since 2006 . He currently serves as a vice-chairperson of this committee since 2023. Furthermore he is chairperson of the Working Group on Pension Tracking Services of the AAE since December 2023. Until 2022 Jeroen has worked as an actuary at Dutch supervisor AFM (Authority of Financial Markets), Ortec Finance B.V., Philps Nederland and Philips Pensioenfonds. As of June 2022 he is an alderman in the municipality of Heusden.

Michael Visser is a pension expert in the Netherlands, in this podcast representing Stichting Pensioenregister, the Dutch national pension tracking organisation. He contributed to the AAE podcast on the newly published AAE discussion paper prepared for the European Tracking Service (ETS), of which Stichting Pensioenregister is one of the member organisations. In the podcast, he shares practical experience from the Dutch pension tracking service and explains how this national expertise feeds into the broader ETS. He outlines the ETS step-by-step approach and rollout strategy, aimed at gradually connecting as many national Pension Tracking Systems as possible. While Belgium and France are already connected, the Netherlands is preparing its connection, with Germany, Croatia, and Poland also taking concrete steps, and further countries expected to follow over time.
