European insurers are currently assessing the implications of upcoming regulatory changes and the attractive investment opportunities that may arise as a result. From January 2027, revised Solvency II rules will provide more favourable capital treatment for certain asset classes. In this webinar, we will be joined by investment experts from Insight Investment, State Street Investment Management and Blackstone to discuss: - The changes being introduced under the European Savings & Investment Union, and how these aim to deepen and revitalise European capital markets—specifically EU securitisation markets; - Securitised assets: what they are, the investment case underpinning increasing institutional demand, and how they can fit within the portfolios of Irish pension schemes and insurance companies; - The expected increase in demand from European insurance companies ahead of the regulatory changes, including an overview of the Solvency II amendments that make these assets more attractive to insurers.
