Economic inequality does not capture the full impacts of inequity. This framework looks at the dimensions of inequality (geographic, gender, ethnicity, disability, overall inequality) against the wellbeing domains in the Australian Actuaries Intergenerational Equity Index (economic and fiscal, housing, health and disability, social, education, and environment).
The key research questions uncovered by the framework to be explored include 1. Is inequity high across these dimensions and domains? How has this changed over time? 2. How does Australia rate internationality for inequality and inequity? 3. How heavily do different types of inequities overlap and compound? 4. What government policies and potential reforms address equity issues raised in the Green Paper?
