KEYNOTE: Supervision and Regulation of AI in the European Union

The presentation will cover the key findings of EIOPA's recent report on the digititalisation of the European insurance sector. This will include an overview of the current adoption of AI by European insurance companies, as well as the different AI use cases identified across the insurance value chain. 

The presentation will also provide an overview of the key provisions of the AI Act and its implications for the insurance sector. It will also provide an overview of EIOPA's recent Opinion on AI governance and risk management. 

Finally, the presentation will outline other activities being developed by EIOPA in the area of AI, including ongoing international work in the context of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), the European Digital Finance Supervisory Academy, as well as the recently established EIOPA Consultative Expert Group on Data Use.
