Keynote – Digital Transformation and AI in Insurance

Financial services are going through a digital transformation. Big data and big data analytics, including the rapid development of LLMs and generative AI tools, are leading to significant possibilities and challenges. These impact the core of insurance and its distribution, in effect the whole insurance value chain, whilst often complicating that value chain further. 

Dr Shakesby will set out some of the drivers of change, and share results from EIOPA’s market monitoring from a Europe-wide perspective on its current pace and direction. He will then touch on some of the new challenges and opportunities these changes can bring – including for actuaries. The risk horizon is shifting as technology, economies and societies evolve: insurance will need to keep up and adapt. What can this mean?
