Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already changing our world fundamentally and looks set to revolutionise the work of actuaries. Is AI an existential threat for actuaries or a fantastic opportunity … or possibly both? AI certainly poses many ethical and professional challenges for actuaries. Charles Cowling, President of the International Actuarial Association (IAA), will explore how AI is already changing the work of actuaries globally and talk about the work the IAA is doing to pull together the best expertise and ideas from around the world to help the global profession face up to the exciting but potentially concerning challenges of AI. This will include an update from the Global Summit on AI that the IAA is hosting in Singapore in April when experts from around the world will come together to discuss the ethical, professional and technical challenges posed by AI.
