Undoubtedly, the actuarial profession holds a future with great opportunities that will be challenged by rapid advancement in technology (Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), the Future of Mobility and Automobile Insurance Business, rise in Insurtech, changing Insurance Models, changing roles of Actuaries, global concerns about Climate Change and high requirement for new people interfacing and communication Skills.
Interestingly, with these challenges come further opportunities if met with ready attitude and adequate preparation towards the birthing and the development of resilient young Actuaries who will propel quick adaptation of the actuarial profession towards the future changes. It will help to meet the future rise in demand for actuaries.
Globally, with the growing youth population, there is call for urgency towards youth development and empowerment. The actuarial profession is not insulated from this call. Therefore, in order to contribute to a better and developed society, necessity is laid on today’s Actuaries to breed tomorrow’s resilient Actuaries from the youth population by cultivating actuarial minds in the youth who are the target of criminal inspirers, contributing towards improved academic curriculum, developing comprehensive mentorship programmes, active role modelling, investing in actuarial scholarships and developing actuarial specializations that will match future world orders.
