During this session, Kudzai and Geoffery will cover the core skillsets that qualified actuaries possess to be able to build successful careers in banking across a wide range of functions within retail banking, asset finance and investment banking. The presenters will show how the actuarial skills can be transferred, with some practical examples. They will also provide an overview of the contents of the Banking Fellowship subject. There will be case studies of a broad range of careers that actuaries have taken in banking. The presenters will also discuss the broader role of actuaries in safe-guarding the banking system for public interest (and the related challenges to attempt this), including governance roles that actuaries increasingly fulfill in these entities.
